I am the sole creator of the award–winning images in galleries, festival exhibitions, or on my website, PicturesPlus-Art.com. A graduate of Florida State University and a long-time resident of Tallahassee, I have captured many of my photographic images during travels and from around my immediate home area of Florida and south Georgia. Unlike some artists, I do not restrict my works to a particular style or genre, but seek to explore new approaches to creating fine art.
My traditional photography subjects are primarily scenics, or landscapes, and wildlife. They can be in color, black and white, or sepia, depending upon what best presents the subject. I also create fine art works by taking photographic images and manipulating the color and light to create a final presentation that transcends traditional photography. Some of my presentations are panoramas.
Each displayed image begins as a high-resolution digital image or slide or print film that is digitally scanned with a film scanner. Each image is then meticulously reviewed for clarity before being included in the collection or incorporated into a composition. Many of my images receive very little manipulation and accurately reflect the scene as I saw it when the picture was originally photographed. Increasingly, however, I am combining traditional photography with computer technologies to create artistic expressions beyond photography.
When an image is finalized, it is made available in limited edition(LE) and single artist proof (AP) sizes either as processed photographs or giclée prints on high quality archival paper or canvas. All prints are acid free, lignin free, and pH neutral. I own a high-quality photographic printer that produces archival quality prints. These prints will maintain their original color and luster for many years, when cared for properly. I personally prepare all of the prints without the use of any apprentices or assistants. The final product is a print that is matted and framed in a gallery quality framing of either wood or metal with premium glass or on canvas in a gallery wrap presentation. If traditionally framed, the outer mat colors are usually white or black, although other colors that compliment the picture may be used. This gallery style of framing emphasizes the quality of the print.
I personally sign all of the prints. The larger prints are originals (AP) or numbered as limited editions. The limited edition numbered and framed prints includes sizes 18” x 24” and larger and the maximum number of prints for an edition does not exceed 45. Panoramas are also provided as originals (AP) or limited editions. Once all of the prints of an edition have sold, it will never again be produced as a print.
My images are currently sold in galleries in Tallahassee and at art shows and festivals in the southeast. I have also sold framed and unframed prints from my website, PicturesPlus-Art.com, to discerning art collectors throughout the United States.
Please feel free to ask any questions about my process or my art. Thank you.
